New Year’s Day is the one day when everything can be imagined as perfect—-you, we have 364 days to not mess up anything. To actually read 100 books, to actually save money, to actually travel to another country, state, or just out of your town for more than a day, to not lose our temper with the people we love the most, to not waste our time, to cherish all that we have.
We can all imagine that perfect Instagram worthy life if we just buckle down and try harder, right?
Ha-Ha.
However, the same you, the same me that is writing this on 12/30/21 is the same me that is going to wake up (fingers crossed) on 1/1/22.
So here are my hopeful goals for 2022—all of them wrapped up in grace and hope that I may not will not accomplish them all perfectly but I will still have a great year!
I wish you all the same and more! I’m excited to read more substacks this year and write and create more vibrant posts here. Thank you SO MUCH for reading!
Read 75 books. My goal for 2021 was 100 and I got to 69.
2 Children’s books
15 Non Fiction books (whoa! hoping to increase this every year)
26 Poetry books (these have been so soul-feeding and good reads,
Natasha Trethewey was my favorite author of 2021)
13 Graphic Novels (Y: The Last Man & Saga were so epic!)
13 Fiction (lots of great free Amazon kindle books)Publish a substack post every other week, on schedule (Wednesdays)
Dry January! Excited to do this. To try so many sparkling waters. To drink a lot of coffee!
Walk more, along with the usual (eat better, exercise more) but generally, just walk more (this is wrapped up in visiting San Francisco, San Diego, San Jose, and many more California cities & towns. Vacation days are my best walking days)
Survive
Be the Best Auntie I can be to my twin nephews
One thing I hope for that I can’t put into writing.
May the adventure of achieving your goals fill 2022 with joy! Happy New Year!
