Summer Eats, Vintage, August Reads
End of summer, beginning of school, looking towards the holidays.
Hi! Are you enjoying “back to school” vibes? I haven’t taken a college course since about 2017…….
I miss structured learning, sometimes!
From the educational sidelines, I’m cheering on a Kindergarten Teacher friend, second cousins in all stages of elementary/middle/high school, and a friend’s 8th grader! Best back to school wishes to all!
New Things:) Drinks

New Coffee alert in my small (25,000ish residents) town of Selma, CA. I haven’t lived here for awhile but this town is my #officelife home for far too long;).
If you are ever traveling down Highway 99S in central California, take a quick pit stop to check it out.
Maiden Voyage has lunch specials too:
New Things:) Foods
Sushi tacos! Are you a “traditional” sushi-ist or anything goes, all the sauces, all the toppings-ist? I’m both. Loveeeee all the raw things, cooked things, and excellent rice. These tacos were lighter tasting and just as delicious as a big ol’ roll.

Vintage!
I went to an entrepreneurship mixer with Laura (my sister) a few weeks ago, held in the most interesting venue Eclectic House a vintage/curated/consignment store in Fresno, CA. This place is hugely elegant—a large space with beautifully curated booths.
Lots and lots of variety! I purchased a blouse (vintage), candle, roasted pistachios, and a coloring book (vintage!).

Just because, old architecture is cool
July and August Reads
Having a yearly reading goal, for new books, does keep me motivated to read more, seek out new authors, and actually pick books from my “to read” list. However, it also keeps me from revisiting old favorites. Next year I might try a 50 new books, 25 re-reads goal. Maybe!

End of Summer Feels-Happy Halloween! ;)
Technically there is over 1 month of summer left, 9/22/24, but for many of us, the big summer trips are done, school has started, we never took a trip and don’t plan to, and the over 100 degree temperatures are really getting old now.
If summer feels over, I hope you are looking forward to Fall! Cooler temps, gearing up for holidays, soup!
I feel like I have accomplished a lot of my summer-feels goals. Travel, baseball games, more swimming than last year, lot of ice cream! There are still a few things I’d like to do before October 1st:
See my dog on the beach, whether that’s Shaver Lake (about 1.5 hours away) or a Pacific Ocean beach.
Eat more ice cream!
One more baseball game in San Diego.
Hope there are still some summer joys you can feel in the coming days :)
Cheers!
