Hi! to any and all reading this. I have had a few new people join the crowd* since my last post, last month. Thank you for spending time in my little world.
Let’s make a plan to meet more often. Next year, I plan, I really, really plan on writing at least twice a month. For context, in 2022 I wrote to you twice in a month, only 3 times, and there were 2 months that were completely skipped.
I’d also like to focus more on the “Bookstore” aspect of Bookstore.Thriftstore.Bar.
Maybe 2022 was the year of drinks and 2023 will be the year of books?
As always, thank you so much for reading. I’m not always sure why/what/how to share something worthwhile to anyone, but I’ll keep doing it anyways.
*double digit subscribers-whoa!
Last November I missed my family’s big Thanksgiving gathering because there was a Covid scare {multiple positive tests amongst them}; luckily this year we will all be gathering, hopefully without Mr. Covid, at my grandparents house like usual. This will be the first year, that I can remember, that my grandmother will do no cooking.
Her children and grandchildren will be doing it on our own. Fingers crossed!!
Ben and I will be bringing the mashed potatoes and gravy! (we’ve been practicing mashed potatoes the last month or so, I’ve made them for Friendsgiving and other holiday events before but they have never had to survive my mom’s or her also-very-opinionated siblings scrutiny before—-we will see)….
I hope that all of us have some rest in these remaining days of November 2022.
We are here!
Remember back in November 2020 when the winter stared us down without celebrations and so.much.fear.
Today we are here, and hopefully next Thursday we will be here and many more days after that.
Hopefully we can all get through the long days of possible travel, tons of conversations, wrangling kiddos or elders, cooking, baking and all the dishes and finally, after all that, we can enjoy a drink and quiet-ish company. Cheers!
P.S. what am I doing to get a step closer to having/opening/working at a
Bookstore-Thriftstore-Bar?
I’m currently taking a free, online food safety course at Santa Ana Community College!
It’s very interesting so far. I’m hoping to get my ServSafe Food Handler card in the new year!
