May: Daydreams & Drinks
A few ideas for my Bookstore/Thriftstore/Bar Daydream and some April Adventures
Hello there, again! I hope you are doing well, safe, fed, and working through life’s many or few or seemingly insurmountable struggles at the moment. We are surviving and so lucky to be thriving!
1. Alternate name idea, The Book Club
I know naming a bar “The Book Club” might be a bit confusing but also AWESOME. “I’m going to Book Club tonight, you have to watch the kids.”
There is actually a super lovely and amazing looking Book Club Bar in NYC!
Just added them to my travel wishlist on Instagram (they’re at @bookclubbar )
2. All of the Lights
I didn’t get great photos but at least 3 places I visited in San Diego had colorful, twinkly, little lights strung up around the bar. Loved it! I definitely would incorporate lights like these in the bookstore, around the thrift-vintage shelves, and of course over and around the bar.
3. Drinks!
In April I was able to drink in a lot of cool places.
The Marlin Club - Avalon, Catalina Island, CA — Jack ‘n Coke
El Galleon - Avalon, Catalina Island, CA — Mojito
Shenanigans Irish Pub & Grille - Long Beach, CA — craft beer on tap
Downtown WestBrew Beer - San Diego, CA — beer flight!
Bolt Brewery Little Italy - San Diego, CA — craft beer on tap
Waterfront Bar & Grill - San Diego, CA — Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing on tap
Ballast Point Brewing Little Italy - San Diego, CA — beer flight!
Aero Club Bar - San Diego, CA - craft beer on tap
Cafe Sevilla of San Diego - mojito
Cheers!
